Even those of us who dedicated the better part of our childhood to dreaming up the perfect wedding, still have questions when the time comes to stop playing dress-up and start playing bona fide bride-to-be. Hopefully we can give you a few helpful hints below, or at the very least some food for thought.

What do I do first?
Book your venue as this may need to be a year ahead if you are planning a spring wedding, and the season will determine flower availability. The gown of your dreams is the next priority!

How far in advance do I need to book my flowers?
Three months is preferable but contact us if you are squeezed for time.

How much is the first consultation?
Your first consultation is complimentary where we discuss your plans and dreams for your wedding. We then create a visual proposal based on colour, style, seasonal availability and pricing. Further consultations are charged at $100.00 an hourĀ  however usually only one is needed and email or phone communication cover any other questions.

What do I need to bring to the consultation?
Photos of your dress/bridemaids dresses, and a sample of the fabric if available. A venue contact and a layout of your table format is very helpful.

What can I expect?
Design is our focus. We are not interested in run of the mill solutions. We will create something special that is unique to your celebration with hand selected quality blooms.

Do you deliver the flowers?
Yes we can deliver your flowers and buttonholes or alternatively they can be collected.

Is there a minimum budget?
No, but realistically you should allow 10% of your wedding budget. Your beautiful flowers will enhance your photographs forever.

How much do your flowers cost?
Due to the unique nature of each wedding, costs will vary but an approximate guide for pricing would be bridal bouquets from $180.00, bridesmaids bouquets $120.00, buttonholes $15.00 and corsages $25.00.

How do I confirm my booking?
Your booking is confirmed on receipt of a $250.00 deposit paid against the initial quote with full payment required two weeks before your wedding.

Do you provide vases?
We have an eclectic range of vases, containers and vintage hardware that are available for your wedding.

Is Hortensia flowers a shop?
We are freelance floral designers who work from home allowing us to keep costs down and recycle all floral clippings back into the garden.
